Introduced in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-specific top-level domain name extension is very popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building imaginative and catchy domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to share it with colleagues and friends. The domain extension can also be used for a website, which is related to the information technology sector since IT is an abbreviation, which is accepted around the world.

As .IT domains are not registered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that administrates this top-level domain name extension, such a domain can be booked through a third-party firm, such as ours. We will handle the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry. You can buy a dot IT domain for no more than a year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to us and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. The sole restriction is that the person booking such a domain must be situated in a member state of the European Union.

Because there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of different regions and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any kind are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion.
